The Mount Elgon Agroforestry Coffee Cooperative Enterprise (MEACCE), in partnership with HEKS/EPER and iGravity, is pleased to announce the launch of a consultancy opportunity aimed at strengthening the resilience and food security of smallholder coffee farmers in Eastern Uganda.

As part of the “Improving the Food Security and Resilience of Ugandan Coffee Farmers” project, funded by the Smallholder Safety Net Upscaling Programme (SSNUP), MEACCE is seeking experienced consultants or consulting firms to develop and deliver a Training of Trainers (ToT) curriculum on agroecological and agroforestry practices.

The consultancy will focus on:

  • Improving post-harvest handling and food processing techniques for crops such as matooke, beans, and vegetables.
  • Integrating agroforestry systems within coffee landscapes, including soil conservation and tree nursery management.
  • Conducting participatory trainings through Farmer Field Schools (FFS) to reach over 1,200 farmers.
  • Providing technical backstopping and coaching to 12 Community Knowledge Workers (CKWs).

The assignment will run for 20 weeks, covering the Mbale and Mt. Elgon region, and will contribute to sustainable farming systems, climate adaptation, and improved livelihoods for coffee-growing communities.
