Mount Elgon Agroforestry Coffee Cooperative Enterprise (MEACCE), in partnership with HEKS/EPER and iGravity, is inviting qualified consultants or firms to deliver a Financial Literacy Training Program for smallholder coffee farmers in Mbale, Eastern Uganda.

This initiative is part of the project “Improving the Food Security and Resilience of Ugandan Coffee Farmers” funded by the Smallholder Safety Net Upscaling Programme (SSNUP). The training aims to strengthen the financial management skills of 1,200 farmers, including 400 women and 400 youth, to enhance household financial security, improve decision-making, and increase resilience.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant will:

  • Design a context-specific financial literacy curriculum tailored to coffee-farming households.
  • Conduct participatory and practical training sessions using adult-learning principles.
  • Provide technical support, monitoring, and follow-up to ensure adoption of financial management skills.
  • Promote inclusion by actively engaging women, youth, and vulnerable groups.

Consultant Profile

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Strong experience in financial literacy and curriculum development in rural/agricultural contexts.
  • Knowledge of climate-smart and agroecological farming practices.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and reporting skills.
