Robusta Coffee

Farmers in Jinja district and surrounding areas are predominantly Robusta Coffee growers with a few of them also engaging in Sugarcane growing.

Majority of our farmers grow coffee in a mixed crop system with bananas and shade trees mainly under organic by default farming system.

Robusta Coffee production is carried out in areas with altitude ranging from 1200-1400masl and an average annual rainfall of 2015mm.

Robusta Coffee production is estimated at 500,000Kgs of dry cherries from 450 hectares. On average a member cultivates 1.2ha and produces 1000kgs of dry cherry. Average yield estimate for our coffee is 1kg of dry cherry per tree.

Our Robusta Coffee scores above 83 cup with stone fruit, dried fruit, mild sweet, full bodied, well balanced, clean, chocolate, vanilla, clove like finish, mild salt and cocoa flavors. It presents with 30% of screen 18, 60% of screen 15 and 10% of screen 12.
