Insights from the Fairtrade Africa at MEACCE Training

From July 17th to 18th, 2024, stakeholders across the Elgon region convened for the Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) training by Fairtrade Africa, at MEACCE. This training has brought together Sustainable Producer Organizations (SPOs) dedicated to coffee production, aiming to deepen their commitment to ethical standards.

The training sessions delved into critical topics, including integrating human rights frameworks and environmental due diligence practices into daily operations. Participants gain invaluable insights into enhancing transparency, accountability, and sustainability throughout the supply chain.
Through this interactive workshop and expert-led discussions, attendees explore actionable strategies to mitigate risks and promote positive impacts in coffee farming communities.

As the coffee industry continues to evolve, initiatives like the HREDD training play a crucial role in shaping a more sustainable future.

Fairtrade Africa remains steadfast in support, empowering SPOs to lead by example and drive positive change across the region.
